Minnetonka Swim Club Team Page
One of the advantages of Minnetonka Swim Club is that by being in the school pools, our swimmers have access to fins, pull buoys, paddles and kick boards that most clubs require their swimmers purchase.
That said, there are benefits to purchasing your own equipment—particularly fins (zoomers). Fins that do not fit can tear your swimmer’s skin. And, while our pools have boards, fins, and pull buoys, some of our practice groups have gotten big enough that there are not enough of these tools for every swimmer. In addition, if everyone brings their own equipment, there is a lot less transition time between sets as time is not wasted searching for the proper size fins. So, we do recommend the following equipment be purchased by swimmers and brought to every practice.
COMPETITION APPAREL:
TEAM SWIM CAP - Team caps are required for competition. Please see your coach jto purchase a team cap.
TEAM SUITS - We also STRONGLY encourage swimmers to wear a team suit during competition. This helps create a sense of team unity and like all the other team gear, you get a 20% discount on your team suit through Pure Blue Swim. Suits can be ordered below or by stopping by Pure Blue Swim Shop (please call Pure Blue for availability before stopping by).
Sr. and Sr. Elite Group
1. Zoomers (Be sure to get the RED ones, not the Blue ones)
2. Strokemaker Hand Paddles (Girls should get green (01) or yellow (02) sized paddles, boys should get green (01), yellow (02) or red (03) sized paddles. The bigger you are the bigger paddle you should have.
3. Swimmer's Snorkel - Please check the size to make sure it fits your BEFORE jumping in the water with it.
4. Mesh Equipment Bag (Used to hold all your gear on the pool deck so it doesn't get mixed up with everyone else's gear)
White Group
1. Zoomers (Be sure to get the RED ones, not the Blue ones)
2. Swimmer's Snorkel - Please check the size to make sure it fits your BEFORE jumping in the water with it.
3. Nose Plug (optional for use with the snorkel)
4. Goggles (Pure Blue Swim Shop will help you fit a pair for your child)
5. Swim Cap (if you have long hair)
6. Mesh Equipment Bag (Used to hold all your gear on the pool deck so it doesn't get mixed up with everyone else's gear)
7. Proper competitive swim suit (please no swim trunks, two-pieces, wet suits, etc...)
First Timers, Novice, Blue and Junior Groups
1. Zoomers (Be sure to get the RED ones, not the Blue ones)
2. Goggles (Pure Blue Swim Shop will help you fit a pair for your child)
3. Swim Cap (if you have long hair)
4. Proper competitive swim suit (please no swim trunks, two-pieces, wet suits, etc...)
